How much rain fall does a desert have yearly? 250mm
Define a hot desert? Hot deserts lie around the Tropic of Cancer or the Tropic of Capricorn. They have hot summer and warm winters. There is little rain. Cloud cover is rare and humidity is very low, there is nothing to block out the sun in day or prevent its loss at night. temperatures can be from 45c and -15c in 24 hours
Define a cold desert? Cold deserts lie on high ground north of the Tropic of Cancer and south of the Tropic of Capricorn. They include the polar deserts. Rain falls as snow. Winters are very cold and summers are dry and mild to warm.
Define 'Erosion' Erosion removes materials such as weathered rock. (When the surface of the earth is worn away by water, glaciers, wind or waves)
Most hot deserts are found between... 15-35*c degrees latitude

rain shadow desert form ....... (rain form forms on the leeward side of the mountain range not much moister). cloud gets water from windward side as it rises it cools down releasing rain then it goes over to the leeward side when it collects the moister form the land warming the cloud up because it takes all the water the land is dry.
cold ocean deserts form..... ocean have both hot and cold currents. When cold current flows over warm landmasses it get all the moister from the land but it cant release it unless there is mountain ranges so the land stays arid-dry.
inland desert form..... these desert are so far inland that the cloud has already released the water somewhere else so by the time the cloud get to the desert it has become so warm that it can not release any moister it holds.
define land form: wadi wadis is a dry riverbed or gully's that have been formed by flash floods and rock or earth that have been dislodged.
define land form: mesa mesa is an isolated flat-topped hill with steep sides that has been formed by thousand of years of extreme temperatures and heavy rain.
define land form: oasis oasis is a fertile spot in a desert. It receives water from underground supplies.
define land form: plateau plateau is an flat bear rock suface.
define land form: sand due sand dues start as small mounds of sand that collect around an object like a rock. As they grow they are moved and shaped by wind.
