STAGE 3 OF DTM Straighter sides as more people live into old age. Birth rate decreasing
STAGE 4 OF DTM Most people die in old age - life expectancy is high. Birth rate reducing causing concave shape
STAGE 5 OF DTM Increasing proportions in the very elderly group. Middle-aged generation is much larger than those of children because of low birth rate
