Anchoring Junction - Binds cells together - Made of transmembrane proteins - Binds tissues that have high mechanical stress (muscle and skin)
Tight Junction - Seals cells together - Prevents leaks - Made of closely bound proteins - Does not let substances through cells
Communicating/Gap Junction - Allows small molecules to pass between cells within a tissue e.g. ANIMAL: steroid moving through e.g. PLANT: plasmodesmata
