IgG Heavy chain gamma. Has 4 subclasses. Found in blood and ECF. Functions to opsonize.
IgD Heavy chain delta. Secreted in small amounts on B cell.
IgE Heavy chain epsilon. Low levels in blood. binds to last cells and brings on allergic reaction. Function as passively acquired receptor which coats parasite infected cells.
IgM Heavy chain mu. First class of antibody made by developing B cell. Exists as pentamer when secreted. Functions to activate complement.
IgA Heavy chain alpha. Is the secretory antibody in bodily fluids. Exists as dimer. Functions to neutralize pathogens as first defense.
