What does magnified mean? To make something appear larger than it is for example a telescope or a microscope or possibly binoculars.
What is a microscope? The microscope is a device used to view very small objects by magnifying the image.
What is a Specimen? A specimen is a sample of something, like a specimen of blood or body tissue that is taken for medical testing.
What does microscopic mean? So small that it is visible only with a microscope.
What is objective lens? The lens of the microscope closest to the stage.
What is a monocular microscope? A light microscope that only has one ocular lens.
What does dissect mean? To cut apart (an animal body, plant, etc.) to examine the structure.
What is an image? What is seen using the microscope.
What is a stereo microscope? A binocular microscope that creates a 3 dimensional image.
What is magnification? Magnification is the process of enlarging something only in appearance, not in physical size.
What is field of view? The amount of a specimen seen through a microscope.
What is an electron microscope? A microscope that uses tiny particles of electrons instead of light to and are able to magnify up to a million times.
What is a micrometer? One thousandth of a millimeter or one millionth of a meter.
