| Sunlight: | Zooxanthellae in polyps need sunlight, so do polyps - can't develop too deep or sunlight won't reach them |
| Clean / Clear Water: | Clear Water - needs to be clear so sunlight can reach polyps Clean Water - polyps sensitive to pollution and sediment |
