    1. Forms small soil grains
    2. 2 Chemical Weathering
      1. Releases important nutrients from the rock
      2. 3 Seeds blown onto soil and enrich it upon death
        1. Lichens and Mosses can grow on young soils
        2. 4 Micro-organisms decompose plant remains
          1. This forms humus and further enriches the soil
            1. Humus helps the soil grains to bind together
          2. 5 Repeat until maxiumum fertility is reached
