          • Non-energy yielding but provide many essential dietary components
          1. vitamins

            Nota:

            • Vitamins are organic and can be broken down by heat, air, or acid. 
            • Vitamins are classified by solubility 
            • Vitamin means vital and that to become or be classified as an actual vitamin it has to have been demonstrated that these are essential to the diet. That you have to consume them through your food to prevent potentially a deficiency disease.
            1. fat soluble vitamins

              • Fat soluble vitamins require fat in the diet for absorption
