6. He became leader of the Common in Attlee government -responsible for management of government business
7. and Lord President of the council -oversight of labour domestic programme.
Aneurin Bevan (1897-1960)
1. Son of am welsh miner, became an miner at 13.
2. Rose in union officials
3. Labour MP for Ebbw vale in 1929
4. Left wing member of party
5. Proved to be an able administrator at the minister of health
Sir Richard Stafford Cripps
1. He was from a wealthy legal family and became a very successful barrister himself.

3. Opponent of re-armament in the 1930's and support of the popular front in opposition to fascism
4. Major figure in Churchill's wartime government.
5. He was teetotaller and vegetarian, which made him suitable for the chancellor in this austerity period form 1947 onwards

1. President of trade union under Churchill and minister of economic warfare under Churchill
2. Majour planner of labour nationalisation program
3. Became chancellor under Attlee, Attlee tolerated him but when he leak the budget plan he was forced to resign (1947)

2. He was foreign secretary 1945-50
3. He was pro American during the cold war
