Task 7
- Preliminary task
- These are three stills
from my preliminary
task.
- Whilst directing and
recording this piece I
successfully stuck to
the 180 degree rule.
- However the color is off between shots is off,
for example the lighting in the first few seconds
of the piece is very orange. If I was to do this
again I would have used color matching
software in order to produce a piece of a higher
quality.
- I also used match on action
twice, once when the boy is
reaching for the fridge handle
and the second time when the
women drops the cup. However,
I do not feel like this convention
was very clear so next time I
would emphasize it.

- Final production
- Here are three stills from
my final task. During this I
also used the three
conventions that I
practiced during my
preliminary task.
- In my final task, as a group we planned out a range of interesting shots the we wanted to use
in order to ensure an interesting film. We also wanted to make a good quality film in order to
present our skills as young amateur film makers. We also wanted to go against the norm of
doing lots of feet shots, so we used lower back shots and aerial shot in order to be
adventurous and "impulsive".
- We successfully stuck to the 180 degree rule which enabled us to make a
better quality film. We also used shot-reverse-shot in the film which play an
important role in connoting the old girls emotions towards her mother. Also
we used a match on action shot of the mother throwing the glass down and
it breaking. By using all three conventions I was able to show how my skills
have developed since the preliminary task.
