At beginning of play Macbeth seen as a good person
Described as "noble" by Duncan
Captain/sergeant tells Duncan how brave and
fearless he was in battle
Duncan makes him Thane of Cawdor
When witches tell Macbeth prophecies and they turn out true he starts
believing what the withes said
Beginning of him turning evil
Tells Lady Macbeth about the prophecies and potential idea of
murdering Duncan
She started to manipulate Macbeth into carrying out the
murder by insulting him and his manhood
Macbeth struggles with the idea of murdering his king
Decides not to do it but Lady Macbeth is outraged
and forces him to do it
She takes control in their relationship and
starts the plan to murder Duncan
Whats to become more male and evil
Due to prophecies he believes he must kill his best friend
Banquo and his son
Banquo is killed but son escapes
Shows how Macbeth has changed and no
longer is worried or scared of murdering
people close to him
After hearing Macduff has fled to England, he
immediately decides to murder his innocent wife and
son
Says he will be more decisive
"The very firstlings of my heart shall be
the firstlings of my hand"
Macduff's wife and son are brutally murdered
Now Macbeth is truly evil
Macbeth has become more evil whilst Lady Macbeth is wanting the
constant nightmares and mental torture to stop from all the
horrible things her and Macbeth have done
