Chemical Bonding

A chemical bonding is made up of small units ofmatter called atoms.

Ionic Bonding occurs when one element donates an electron os electrons to another so that both elements will have a full outer shell.
1. Ionic bonding is mostly formed between metals located at the left side of the periodic table
2. The electrons orbit around the nucleous of the atom. they stay in layers called shells
  1. shell can only contayn a certain number of electrons
    1. If a fan atom has 1 electron out of 8 possible on its exterior shell, you'll want to give up that electron so your outer shell is now full.
The atoms in the molecules are held together by the attraction between the nucleus and shared electrons
