• Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass

      Nota:

      • Solids: The molecules are in a fixed position. Each molecule has enough energy to vibrate, but not enough to leave it's place.
   2. Liquids

      Nota:

      • The molecules have enough energy to slide and roll over and around each other. They are not fixed in position, but they cannot break away from each other
   3. Gasses

      Nota:

      • The molecules have enough energy to separate completely from each other and move off in all directions

   2. Liquid

      Nota:

   3. Gas

      Nota:

3. Change of state

   Nota:

   • The melting point of a solid is the temperature at which both the solid and liquid states of a substance exist together
   • The boiling point of a liquid is the temperature at which evaporation begins to occur throughout the liquid
