Once data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and can
only be read. Unlike main memory (RAM), ROM retains its contents even when
the computer is turned off. ROM is referred to as being nonvolatile, whereas
RAM is volatile.
Read only memory
CPU
CPU means a
central processing
unit
The CPU is the part of a computer system
that is commonly known as the 'Brains of the
computer'.
A typical CPU has a number of components. The first is the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), which
performs simple arithmetic and logical operations. Second is the control unit (CU), which manages
the various components of the computer.
In a computer, clock speed refers to the number of pulses per second
generated by an oscillator that sets the tempo for the processor. Clock speed
is usually measured in MHz (megahertz, or millions of pulses per second) or
GHz (gigahertz, or billions of pulses per second).
RAM
RAM is a type of data storage.
Random access memory
A random-access memory device allows data items to be
accessed (read or written) in almost the same amount of
time irrespective of the physical location of data inside the
memory.
Ram is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly
Motherboard
a printed circuit board containing the
principal components of a computer or
other device, with connectors for other
circuit boards to be slotted into.
