Population
  1. Birth rate - the number of babies born per 1000 people per year
    1. Death rate - the number of deaths per 1000 people per year
      1. Natural change - the difference between birth and death rates expressed as a percentage
        1. Natural increase - when the birth rate exceeds the death rate and the population goes up
          1. Natural decrease - where the death rate exceeds the birth rate and the population goes down
            1. Zero growth - the population is in balance. The birth rate is equal to the death rate so there is no growth or decrease
