Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Trial of Exposure and Ritual Prevention, with OCD

Nota:

•  - to test the effectiveness of a combination of SRIs, CBT exposure and ritual prevention in the treatment of OCD.

Nota:

•  - double blind  - randomized  - placebo controlled  
•  - they compared exposure therapy, ritual prevention and clomipramine with eachother as well as a combination of all three together

   1. Yale-brown obsessive compulsive scale
   2. clinical global impression improvement scale

Nota:

•  - the combination of ritual prevention and exposure therapy was more effective than SSRIs alone, and even when used in combination with CBT it only increaased the completion rates and not the treatment rates.
