  1. Light Dependent Reaction
    1. Electrons in Chlorophyl A gain energy from electrons
      1. Photolysis of water
        1. 2H2O -> 4H+ + 4e- + O2
          1. Increase the conc. of protons in thylakoid space
          2. Protons only cross membrane through ATP synthase channels
            1. Structure of enzyme changes catalysing the reaction of ADP + Pi -> ATP
              1. Protons are taken up by NADP becoming reduced NADP which goes on to next stage
            2. Calvin Cycle
              1. CO2 diffuses into stroma
                1. Reacts with RuBP to give 2 molecule of GP
                  1. Glycerate Phosphate
                    1. Carbon fixation
                  2. Reduced NADP reduces GP to TP using energy from ATP
                    1. NADP is reformed and goes back to light-dependent reaction
                    2. Some TP molecules are converted to organic stubstances
                      1. Eg. Glucose
                      2. Most TP are used to regenerate RuBP using ATP from light dependent reaction
