Polarised wave- A transverse wave
which is only vibrating on a single
plane
As light is reflected by a surface,
some of it is polarised but I don't
know how.
Brewster's law
When the angle
between the relfected
ray and the refracted ray
is 90 degrees,
polarisation is 100%
Polariser- The first
thingy that makes the
wave one-planed
Analyser- the second
thingy which makes
the wave something
else, depending on
the angle between it
and the polariser
Optically active
substance- solutions
which can rotate the
plane of polarisation,
e.g. sugar solution
Some plastics become optically active
when put under stress (force), causing
different colours to appear when different
amount of force is applied to the plastic,
as they rotate differently.
