Construction
  1. Indesign
    1. Indesign was the initial drafted software used to help draft our ancillary texts. The reason we started using Indesign instead of the widely popular Photoshop was so that we could develop our skill set and knowledge amongst other software. Due to the previous knowledge which we obtained from our foundation portfolio on Photoshop we had a decent level of understanding on design software. From this we was able to transfer our already existing skill set and implement that into Indesign. However in comparison of both pieces of software we decided to use Photoshop in the end down to the superior confidence in which we had with it.
    2. Youtube
      1. YouTube was our chosen multi platform in which we decided to used to distribute our final production on. The reason why we chose YouTube was because it is the number one leading platform World Wide and it commonly used by users millions of times per day. A long side with this it is regularly available for any user to use on any platform, in any location as long as Internet connection is available. In a competition aspect nearly all global superstars within the music industry will have their production on YouTube, so in the hunt for success we decided to follow suit.
      2. iPhone
        1. After myself and the artist decided to go over the local park and captured some urban footage, we went back to the Macs to review the footage. On review we was highly shocked of how good the quality of the footage was. After this moment we compared the two bits of footage on each device and it ws abundantly clear that the footage on the iPhone was on a completely different level. Shortly after we planned the next convenient day to go and capture some new footage, but to also go back and re-film the exciting footage. To maximise stability and to be able to film a range of different and effective shots we decided to use a selfie stick to help achieve this. This combination of the selfie stick and iPhone was extremely effective and enabled us to obtain some quality footage.
        2. Bluetooth Speaker
          1. The primary focus of us using the bluetooth speaker was to enable the artist to hear the soundtrack so that the lip syncing would have a higher chance of being in time. This was imperative as it will ensure that our overall production would be at a much higher quality and when it came to the editing it would be much easier to match up the artist to the soundtrack. For certain shots we decide to put the speaker in the artist hood just to make sure that he could clearly hear the track and the lyrics.
          2. Headphones
            1. Headphones played a vital role in the construction stage of editing the music video. They allowed us to listen to the soundtrack at a high volume which was vital in allowing us to match up the footage of the lip syncing, in time. In spite of this it also aloud us to work in a enclosed area without distracting people or in the same process annoying them.
            2. Adobe Premier Pro CS6
              1. This editing software was the one in which we had superior knowledge and experience in due to using it in our foundation portfolio. Therefore this provide us with a tough decision in which we had to make between choosing what software in which we wanted to use. Through having previously used Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and using it for the start of the advanced portfolio we made the decision down to various factors that Final Cut Pro would be much more efficient.
              2. Final Cut Pro
                1. Final Cut Pro was under large consideration for the editing stage for our production We started of by using Adobe Premier Pro CS6 for a short while but in the end decided to go with Final Cut Pro. This was down to the fact that we found it a much more user friendly and effective piece of software to use in terms of the product that we was try to achieve.
                2. Sony HD Camera
                  1. From the initial start of the planning stage and in terms of the production we decided to use the Nikon camera which was provided for us to use by team member Seun. However we encountered a few problems when using this camera which consisted of the very short battery life and on review the poor video quality. Due to the poor quality after our first day of filming on review we decided a change of camera was imperative. Shortly after we took a strong liking to using our iPhones due to the 4K filming quality features in which they posse.
                  2. Photoshop
                    1. Photoshop was the main software in which we decided to use for the creation of majority of our ancillary texts. This consisted of the advert, poster, tour date poster and the digipak. Through Photoshop we was able to achieve several effects such as moving images, cutting and combining them together. It also offered various other tools such as blur, sharpen, colour resolution, add text, etc. On top of this we was able to use Photoshop to convey synergy throughout are production ad ancillary texts.
