The secret suggestions gained popularity
The Taliban starts to gain control across Pakistan.

Individuals became afraid to disobey the Taliban.
Malala and her father were targeted by the Taliban.
Eduation
Women's rights to education started to fade away.
Malala's mother struggled to read and write.
Ziauddin Yousafzai owned his own school.
The Taliban started to bomb schools for girls.

Malala and other girls continued to attend school in secret despite the threats.
Education was a priority for Malala.
She continued to do schoolwork when school was over.
Education for women was Malala's main focus when speaking.
She thought that this was the biggest problem.
The War
The Americans came to fight the Taliban.
There were many bombs through night and day.
They became the new normal.
When Malala's family returned, they found destruction around the town.
The Taliban went into "hiding."
Aftermath
Malala and her family stayed in Birmingham.
Malala started to receive praise
She received letters and recognition from her favorite celebrities.
Malala became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Shooting
Malala was shot in the head.
She was on the verge of dying.
On her way home Malala took the bus, where she was shot by a Taliban member.
Malala was sent to multiple hospitals but ended up in Birmingham, England.
The hospital in Birmingham was the only one that was equipped with the right tools to save her.
Two female passengers were also shot.
They both survived.
The Taliban took responsibility.
The Taliban said, "'Malala Yousafzai should be killed.'"
