Hierarchy Order of Importance
Threshold Population The minimum number of people required for a service to be offered
Sphere of Influence The area people are willing to travel for a service
Dormitory Town A setllement that is primarily residential and offers very few services as most residence are commutres.
Tourist Settlement A settlement that averages a large number of sevices depite having a small permanent population due to demand from tourism
