Why is it important to have freedom of speech in Australian society? It is important to have freedom of speech in society because it allows for political debate and criticism of the Government.
In what types of ways can we exercise freedom of speech? We can exercise freedom of speech with political cartoons, artworks and emails.
Define 'freedom of speech'. Freedom of speech is the right of an individual or group to express opinions publicly without government restraint or censorship.
What are the exceptions of freedom of speech in Australia? There are some examples where it is right to limit freedom of speech. Laws have been enacted making verification (hate speech) and defamation illegal. It is right to protect citizens from opinions that cause or incite violence and an intention to harm.

Provide three examples AGAINST the bill of rights. *moral issues become political ones *major decisions are left with judges who are not elected by the people *it enables judges to interpret and change the meaning of laws
Why is protesting part of our democracy? For instance, the holding of peaceful protests will allow people who were negatively impacted by the law to have their concerns acknowledged. It allows people to express their opinions and have them acknowledged.
How can we protect freedom of association in Australia? The Australian Constitution only implies protection of freedom under sections 7 and 24.
How can we restrict freedom of association in Australia? Recently, Australian Govt. has introduced legislation that seeks to prevent the operation of terrorist groups. These changes has made it illegal to associate with certain organisations .
State and explain the Australian constitution section, which protects Freedom of Religion. Section 116 prevents the Australian Government from making laws about religion. The stated are not bound by this section.
