DNS (Domain Name System) -udp/53 -Converts names to IP addresses -behind the scenes
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) -tcp/25 -Server to server email transfer -Also used to send mail from a device to a mail server -commonly configured on mobile devices and email clients
SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) -tcp/22 -Uses SSH File transfer protocol -provides full file system functionality -encrypted obviously since its SSH
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) -tcp/20 (Active Mode Data) -tcp/21 (Control) -not encrypted -transfers files between systems -Authenticates via Username and Password -full-featured functionality
TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) -udp/69 -simple FTP application -no authentication -not used in production systems -no encryption
