Point An exact location in space.
Line Segment A part of a line that has two endpoints.
Line A straight path of points that goes forever in opposite directions.
Ray A part of a line that has one endpoint and continues in one direction.
Parallel Lines Lines that never cross or meet.
Perpendicular Lines Lines that cross and form right angles.
Intersecting Lines Lines that cross in no special way.
Angle A figure formed by two rays that share an endpoint called the vertex.
Vertex The point where two sides of an angle meet.
Right Angle An angle that measures 90 degrees.
Acute Angle An angle that measures less than 90 degrees but more than 0 degrees.
Obtuse Angle An angle that measures more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.
Right Triangle A triangle that had one right angle.
Polygon A closed figure made of line segments.
Quadrilateral A four-sided polygon.
Square A quadrilateral with 4 right angles and all sides are equal.
Rectangle A quadrilateral with 4 right angles and opposite sides are equal.
Parallelogram A quadrilateral with opposite sides equal in length and parallel with equal opposite angles.
Rhombus A quadrilateral with all sides equal in length and parallel with equal opposite angles.
Trapezoid A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides.
Acute Triangle A triangle with 3 acute sides.
Obtuse Triangle A triangle with one obtuse angle.
Equilateral Triangle A triangle with all sides equal in length.
Isosceles Triangle A triangle with 2 sides equal in length.
Scalene Triangle A triangle with NO sides equal in length.
Chord A line segment that connects 2 points on a circle. It does NOT go through the center.
Diameter A line segment that connects 2 points on a circle. It goes through the center point.
Radius A line segment that connects the center of a circle to a point on the center.
