José de San Martin	The Argentinean revolutionary leader who liberated Argentina, Chile, Peru.
Miguel Hidalgo	Mexican priest who led peasants in call for independence and improved conditions
Social Contract	The agreements, rules, laws and governments people make to live together peacefully.
Third Estate	97% of the French population leading up to their revolution; middle class and lower class; they paid high taxes and had no special privileges
Hispaniola	First island in Caribbean settled by Spaniards; island made up of present day Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Atlantic Slave Trade	Lasted from 16th century until the 19th century. Trade of African peoples from Western Africa to the Americas.
