Question Answer
What is an atom is made up of? An atom is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. The protons are positively charged and electrons are negatively charged.
Describe the location of the subjects in an Atom? The protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus, the electrons are arranged in shells around the nucleus.
How come the Electrons doesn't float away? Electrons are held in place by electrostatic forces.
Describe how many electrons the first, second and third shell can hold? The first shell has room for 2 electrons, the second and third shells, 8 electrons
Draw a diagram of an atom of: Lithium
Draw a diagram of an atom of: Beryllium
Draw a diagram of an atom of: Boron
Write down following for Lithium: The mass number The proton number The number of electrons, protons and neutrons
Write down following for Beryllium: The mass number The proton number The number of electrons, protons and neutrons Beryllium has 4 Protons and 5 Neutrons
