Mode The most common piece of data in a set. Examples: 2, 5, 2, 7, 1 The mode is 2 Red, orange, blue, green, orange The mode is orange Data can be bimodal or have no mode
Range The largest piece of data take away the smallest piece of data. Example: 5, 7, 2, 1, 9, 6 9 - 1 = 8
Median The middle number when the data has been ordered. Example: 5, 1, 6, 2, 4 = 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 4 is the median If there are 2 numbers left, add together and divide by two.
Mean Add up the numbers and divide by how many there are. Example: 2, 5, 3, 6, 4 = 20/5 = 4
