Which area did Germany and Poland have a dispute over in 1921? And did the league successly resolve this dispute? Silesia. Yes, they carried out a plebiscite and split the country between Germany and Poland. Both countriesvaccepted this even though it was in favour of Germany
Which two countries were involved in the Aaland Islands dispute of 1921? Why was it a success? Finland and Sweden. It was a success because the LoN ruled that Finland should rule the islands and both countries accepted it
Why did Italt invade Corfu? Italian General was assassinated in Greece whilst carrying out work for the LoN. Greece refused to pay Italy compensation
Why did the Corfu incident have a negative impact on International Relations? LoN could only condemn Mussolini. Britain and France did not want to anger Italy so made the Greeks apologise and pay compensation. This showed the LoN to be weak and that some strong countries could get their own way

Why did France and Belgium occupy the Rhur? What year? Germany stopped paying reparations. 1923
Give two reasons why the Locarno Pact was so significant? Germany, France, and Belgium promised to respect tge borders agreed at Versailles. The pact paved the way for Germany to join the LoN a year later. Germany and France agreed to settle disputes at LoN
What year did Germany join the LoN? 1926
Which pact was signed by approx. 65 countries in 1928? Kellog-Briand
Why was this considered to be a high point of International Relations? Because all countries condemned war and promised to use peaceful means to settle disputes
Give two reasons why this pact would ultimately fail? No agreement on what happens if any country broke the terms/ all agreed they needed an army for self defence/ did not help the LoN with its aim of disarmament
