How did the British empire effect the liberal reforms? | - the government wanted a strong army to call upon to defend their empire - in the Beor war (1899 - 1902) many men were unfit to fight due to malnutrition growing up in some place up to 67% were unfit and the army had to lower the minimum hight |
How did social reformers cause the re-forms? | - work from influential people lead to new attitudes from the government - was now believed it wasn't the poor's fault they were poor + it was the governments responsibility |

How did industry effect the re-forms? | -Britain was the world super power but was being overtaken by Germany and America. Germany had very good welfare projects - needed a strong work force to maintain power - foreign competition |
