Divide a quantity into a given ratio. 35$ in the ratio 4:1 ?? 4+1 = 5 35/7 35 is the given quantity 7-35 = 28 28:7

What are Factors ? Factors are whole numbers that divide exactly into another. " What divides into it exactly ? "
What is BODMAS or BIDMAS ? Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction. Basically the order of Operations.
The number of pupils in the school rises by 8%. There are now 891 pupils. How many pupils used to be there ?? Find the starting value. X x1.08 = 891 X = 891/1.08 X = 825
How do you decrease 109 by 74% ?? As it is a decrease, (100-74) = 26% 26% = 0.26 109 x 0.26 = 28.34
How do you increase 70$ by 12% ?? As it is an increase it is 112$ (100 + 12) 112% = 1.12 70 x 1.12 = 78.4
Share 200$ in the ratio 2:3 ? - This means share the money into 5 equal parts and give 2 to one person and 3 to the other. - So 200/5 = 40, one person gets 2 x $40 = 80 and the other 3 x $40 = $120
A pile of 12 identical encyclopedias weighs 48 kg. How much would the full set of 27 weigh ? 48 / 12 = 4 4 x 27 = 108 kg
