IgM | Heavy chain mu. First class of antibody made by developing B cell. Exists as pentamer when secreted. Functions to activate complement. |
IgA | Heavy chain alpha. Is the secretory antibody in bodily fluids. Exists as dimer. Functions to neutralize pathogens as first defense. |
