Resource summary

Question Answer
What are Natural recources? Most natural recources are substances, such as rocks, air or water.
What are Renewable-resources? A renewable resource is a resource which can be used repeatedly because it is replaced naturally. Examples are: oxygen, fresh water, solar energy, timber, and biomass.
What is Photosynthesis? photosynthesis is the process in which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a by-product.
What is Sediment? Sediment is a naturally occurring material that is broken down by processes of weathering and erosion, and is subsequently transported by the action of wind, water, or ice, and or by the force of gravity acting on the particles
What is Atmosphere? The atmosphere are gases surrounding the earth or another planet.
What is Coal seam gas? CSG is natural gas, trapped in underground coal seams by water and ground pressure. Its single largest component is methane. Natural gas, including CSG, is used for home cooking and heating, to generate electricity and also for industry to make a vast range of products.
What is Deposition? Deposition is the action of deposing someone, especially a monarch.
What is Erosion? Erosion is the process by which the surface of the Earth gets worn down. Erosion can be caused by natural elements such as wind and glacial ice.
What is Fracking? The process of injecting liquid at high pressure into subterranean rocks, boreholes, etc. so as to force open existing fissures and extract oil or gas.
What is Humus? Humus is the organic component of soil, formed by the decomposition of leaves and other plant material by soil microorganisms.
What are Non-renewable resources? A Non-renewable resource is a resource of economic value that cannot be readily replaced by natural means on a level equal to its consumption. Most fossil fuels, such as oil, natural gas and coal are considered Non-renewable resources in that their use is not sustainable because their formation takes billions of years.
What are minerals? Minerals are solid, naturally occurring inorganic substance
What are Igneous rocks? Igneous rock is one of the three main rock types, the others being sedimentary and metamorphic. Igneous rock is formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava.
