Encryption the process of converting information or data into a code, especially to prevent unauthorized access.
phishing the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
cookie An HTTP cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is browsing.
DDoS (distributed denial of service attack) characterized by an explicit attempt by attackers to prevent legitimate users of a service from using that service. In a DDoS attack, the incoming traffic flooding the victim originates from many different sources – potentially hundreds of thousands or more.

TCP/IP the basic communication language or protocol of the Internet; a set of rules (protocols) governing communications among all computers on the Internet.
Router a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet.
Cybersecurity the state of being protected against the criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data, or the measures taken to achieve this.
Virus a piece of code that is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data.
