Question | Answer |
What does Rate Of Reaction depend on? | 1) Temperature 2) Concentration (Or pressure in gases) 3) Catalyst 4) Surface Area Of Solids (Or size of solid pieces.) |
What are the 3 different ways to measure the Rate Of Reaction? | 1) Precipitation 2) Change in mass (Usually gas has been given off) 3) The Volume of gas given off. |
What increases the amount of collisions? | 1) Higher Temperature 2) Higher Concentration 3) Larger Surface Area |
Define Catalyst | A catalyst is a substance which speeds up a reaction, without being changed or used up in the reaction. |
What is an Exothermic reaction? | A reaction which transfers energy to the surroundings, usually in the form of heat and usually shown by a rise in temperature. |
What is an Endothermic Reaction? | An Endothermic Reaction takes energy in from the surroundings, usually in the form of heat and can be shown by a drop in temperature. |
