What are the 2 different types of revelations? General & special.
What is a revelation? an occurrence that makes something about God, his will or the meaning of life clear.
What is special revelation? It is when God is believed to have spoken directly to an individual or select group of people (direct & personal).
What is general revelation? It is when God becomes known through ordinary, common, human experiences or natural means (indirect & impersonal).
4 types of SR & examples Callings (Moses), Visions (Ellen White), Conversions ( Nicky Cruz) & Corporate religious experience (Toronto Blessing).
3 Types of GR Holy books, nature & prayer/worship.
Negatives of SR: Only available for select people, may never happen again & may not help everyone, just the individual.
Negatives of GR: Can be questioned wether it's God, only discloses part of God's message & can be interpreted differently.
Positives of SR: Has an immediate/stronger impact, sends God's message directly & those affected don't doubt.
Positives of GR: Available to anyone, continuous & can help anyone.
Definition: Transcendence. God is too big/ powerful so lives outside space & time.
Definition: Omnipresence God is always there, wherever you are, whenever.
Definition: Omnipotent. God is able to do anything; all powerful.
Definition:Omniscient God is all knowing
Definition:Infinite/eternal God has no beginning or end.
Definition:Omnibenevolent God is all loving
Definition: Altruistic God is selfless
Definition: supremacy God is almighty
Definition:impersonal God is beyond human understanding, force rather than a being
Definition:personal God is thought of in human terms, one is able to have a relationship with.
What is the holy trinity? The son, the father & the holy spirit.
