Question Answer
Tidal power - what is it? a tidal power station traps water from each high tide behind a barrage. The high tide can be released into the sea through turbines. The turbines turn generators in the barrage.
Advantages → Renewable and does not produce waste gases. Quite reliable since tides go up and down each day, although the height differs
disadvantages → Affect river estuaries and affect wildlife and plants there. → height of tide depends on both yearly and monthly cycle.
