LIFE CYCLE OF A SNAKE
A baby snake breaks out of an egg (hatches) by using a special egg tooth.
After a snake is born, it leaves its mother and begins searching for food.
As a young snake grows, it becomes too large for its skin.
It rubs itself against rocks and branches, then crawls out of its skin.
The male and female snake mate, or make babies.
Snakes find a safe place to lay their eggs like a hollow log or a hole in the ground.
Female snakes reproduce, or give birth, once a year or once every 3 years.
