Location Based Services. Services that provide real-time location from a mobile device or smartphone. Usually used to enhance services or entertainment
  1. GPS. Global Positioning System. Uses satellites that rotate longitudinally around the globe to determine the position of the device. The device must be able to connect to at least 2 satellites. Able to approximate longitude and latitude within an average of 5 meters.
    1. Geo-fencing. Utilizes geo location information to restrict access based on where the device is. In otherwords, going outside of the set range could disconnect the device from the network.
      1. Geo location. Often used in the event GPS is disconnected or unavailable. Uses cell phone towers and the device to triangulate an approximate position of the device. Accurate up to about 3/4 miles
