PASSIVE VOICE
  1. DEFINITION We use the passive voice when we are more interested in what happen to the subject. Who or What causes an action is unknown or unimportant
    1. FIRST: We replace the subject of the sentence with the object
      1. EXAMPLE: Factories make plastic. Plastic is made by factories.
      2. SECOND: we change the verb pattern
        1. PRESENT PASSIVE VOICE
            1. EXAMPLES
              1. China grows rice. ----- Rice is grown by China.
                1. China doesn't grow rice. ----- Rice isn't grown by China.
                  1. Does China grow rice? ----- Is rice grown by China?
                    1. Why does China grow rice. ----- Why is rice grown by China.
              2. We use the verb to be in the present (am, is, are) + the verb in past participle
                1. Negative sentence we use am not, isn't, aren't + verb in past participle
            2. PAST PASSIVE VOICE
                1. EXAMPLES
                  1. China grew rice. ----- Rice was grown by China
                    1. China didn't grow rice. ----- Rice wasn't grown by China.
                      1. Did China grow rice?----- Was rice grown by China?
                        1. Why did China grow rice? ----- Why was rice grown by China.
                  2. We use the verb to be (was- were ) + the verb in past participle
                    1. negative sentence we use: wasn't- weren't + verb in past participle.
                2. FINALLY: It is opcional to include the active subject at the end of the sentence after BY
                  1. EXAMPLE: Robert washes the car. The car is washed. or The car is washed by Robert.
