English Across Time
  1. Old English
    1. Latin had some influence in English during the 1st to 5th century, however most of its influence came much later. A lot of the influence came from northern Germanic Tribes (Anglo Saxons) who migrated over in the 5th Century
      1. Middle English
        1. The Normans, after their conquest in 1066, brought with them a French influence. this lead to the more wealthy individuals speaking French while the 'peasants'/middle and lower class people spoke English still.
