    1. Critical Thinking

      Annotations:

      • I have begun trying to incorporate critical thinking exercises into my lesson plans.
      1. Reasoning

        Annotations:

        • I encourage my students to use their reasoning skills to complete their assignments.
      2. Verbal/Linguistic
        1. Vocabulary

          Annotations:

          • I assign weekly vocabulary words to expand student knowledge.  They students have to know how to spell the word, the part of speech and the definition.  I use puzzles for practice and assessment.
          1. Reading

            Annotations:

            • Students are assigned a number of words that have to be read during the school year and a list of books which can be read to satisfy this requirement.
          2. Intrapersonal
            1. Reflection

              Annotations:

              • After presenting challenging information, I plan to allow my students a couple minutes to think about the information as i relates to them.
            2. Interpersonal

              Annotations:

              • I plan to assign students to groups so that they can collaborate on an assignment when applicable
              1. Group

                Annotations:

                • I plan to allow students to have group discussions whenever possible to go over challenging information which has been presented.
              2. Naturalistic

                    Annotations:

                    • The students are given vocal instructions where they are encouraged to take notes.
                    1. Class Discussions

                      Annotations:

                      • We go over the assignments and discuss them as a class to make sure everyone has an understanding of what is to be done.

                      • I have incorporated the practice of having my students get up and perform some stretches at least every 20 minutes to help them re-focus.
