Hard rock: a rock that is difficult to erode e.g. limestone or granite
Soft rock: a rock that is easily eroded e.g. sandstone and clays

Gorge: A steep-sided valley formed by river erosion
Plunge pool: a deep hollow at the base of a waterfall created by the power of falling water
