Physical Development
1. Gross Motor Skills
  1. Have increased agility
  2. Show good balance
  3. Have good co-ordination
  4. Can bend at waist and touch their toes without bending knees
  5. Can hop2-3m
  6. Use variety of play equipment
2. Fine Motor skills
  1. Can use a knife and fork competently
  2. May be able to thread a large eyed needle and sew with large stitches
  3. Have good control over pencils and paint brushes
  4. Can draw a person with a head, a body, arms, legs, a nose, a mouth and eyes
  5. Can copy elaborate models
  6. Can construct elaborate models using kits
  7. Can copy a square and at 5.5 years a triangle
  8. Can Copy letters 'V','T','H','O','X','L','A','C','U', and 'Y'
  9. Can count the fingers on one hand using the index finger of the other
  10. Can do jigsaw puzzles with interlocking pieces
3. Sensory
  1. Can match ten or twelve colors
Emotional and Social development
1. Dress and undress alone
2. Have very definite likes and dislikes
3. Are able to amuse themselves for longer periods of time
4. Show sympathy and comfort friends who are hurt
5. Enjoy caring for pets
6. Choose their own friends
Moral and Spiritual development
1. Understand the social rules of their culture
2. Instinctively help other children when they are distressed
Cognitive and language development
1. Produce drawing with good detail
2. Ask about abstract words
3. Can give their full name, age and address
4. Are interested in reading and writing
5. Recognize their name and attempt to write it
6. Talk about the past, present and future with good sense of time
7. Are fluent in their speech and grammmartically correct
8. Love to be read stories and will then act them out in detail
9. Enjoy jokes and riddles
