Macbeth originally loyal to Scotland and the king Duncan
In the battle at the beginning Macbeth was described to have fought fearlessly
After hearing the prophecies by the witches he immediately thinks of murdering Duncan
Shows he has thought about this before
Maybe not as loyal to the king as he seemed
Duncan was shown to be a great king
Because of this, the lords were loyal to him
Banquo was also said to have fought well in the battle
He is loyal to his sense of honour
Won't let ambition or the witches affect him
Throughout the play Macbeth acts loyal
So does Lady Macbeth
Links in with reality and appearance
Malcolm flees to England to ask for the aid of overthrowing Macbeth
Does this not because he wants power but because he is loyal to Scotland
Macduff goes to England as well
Loyalty to Scotland is tested by Malcolm to see whether he is a spy of Macbeth or not
