Resource summary
What is Democracy?
Democracy comes from the Greek word 'demokratia' - a union of demos (people) and kratos (power)
Some argue that the word 'demos' actually means 'the mob' and would translate democracy as 'mob rule' or 'mobocracy'
John Kingdom sees natural progression from the pure form of democracy to the corrupt form of mob-rule
It literally means 'rule by the people' or 'people power'
