POSTERIOR CLASS I
Do not remove unaffected tooth tissue
Unsupported enamel can be left
Do not bevel enamel edges
LA, Shade, rubber dam
OUTLINE FORM - access caries
Remove from ADJ
Place comp in small increments and cure for 30 secs
each increment only touches 1 wall of prep
final increment and contour shape
Remove rubber dam and check occlusion
Finish and polish - remove oxygen inhibited layer
CLASS II
OUTLINE FORM - access caries
Lesions generally saucer shaped
Contact areas must be cleared
Same as before - matrix, fill in increments etc
Run probe round marginal edge to ensure no overhangs
CLASS V
Same as before - LA, shade rubber dam etc
OUTLINE FORM - gain access and remove decalcified enamel
bevel enamel edges and line as appropriate
Contour, finish and polish
CLINICAL HANDLING
Don not condense like amalgam
where possible use composite instruments
