Resource summary
Theories of evolution
Lamarck
acquired characteristics throughout a lifetime
eg. a giraffe stretches its neck to reach the high leaves.
It passes this on to its children.
changes due to the environment
much shorter process than Darwin's theory
at that time there was no knowledge of genes
so it was more difficult to disprove
but eg. bodybuilder's children
aren't born with bigger muscles
