Internal Prokaryotes

1. cytoplasm

   • a jelly-like cytosol within the cell
   • inside the plasma membrane

2. plasma membrane

   • an outer covering that separates the cell's interior from its surrounding environment
   • double-layer of phospholipids with associated protein & other molecules
   • regulates the movement of materials into and out of the cell

3. ribosome

   • protein synthesis occur
   • both prokaryotic & eukaryotic have multiple ribosomes

4. Nucleoid

   • genetic material of the cell
   • region of the prokaryotic cytoplasm
   • contain genome
     • the main genetic material (DNA) of the cell

5. cell wall

   • Prevents from bursting into a hypotonic environment
   • major organic molecules
     • proteins
     • carbohydrates
     • lipids
