Resource summary
Dilation
dilation means to resize something.
When you dilate a figure, you will have two images, the orignal image, called the pre-image and the new resized image
Image and shapes are when the only difference is sized
If the scale factor is greater than 1 the image is an enlargement ( a stretch)
If the scale factor is between 0 and 1 the image is a reduction (a shrink)
All dilation have a center and a scale
Scale factor tells us how much the figure stretches or shrink
The orignal figure is labeled ABC
The dilated figure would be A' B' C'
