Podcast Assignment: Students will create a podcast to show
how they have been able to achieve this standard (VA3C.1
Applies information and processes from other disciplines to
enhance the understanding and production of artworks) and
objective mentioned in this strand. Students will use the
Spreaker program to create a podcast where they will , at least
3 similarities between Chinese New Year and American New
Year with 95% accuracy.
Comprehension

GIven 2 paintings of cherry blossoms, students will be able to assess which is the best
composition and defend their choice by writing 3 sentences identifying 3 principals of design in the piece.
Evaluation
VA3PR.2 Understands and applies media, techniques, and processes of two-dimensional art processes
(drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed- media) using tools and materials in a safe and appropriate manner to
develop skills.
Objective: Given a paintbrush and red and black paint students will be able to apply the blown painting technique to create their own cherry blossom
trees with 85% accuracy.
Description of final activity: Students will create a stop animation to teach others how to create cherry blossom trees using the blown
paint technique. To create their stop animation students will use movie maker, their own student created
Chinese dragons from a previous project, paper, pencil, paint, paintbrushes and a digital camera.
